When you buy UPVC patio doors or French windows, these days they come with integral multipoint locking devices. But many homeowners inherit patio doors when they move into a new home and they may be less than secure. Even multipoint locks can become worn with age. UPVC doors that lack multipoint locks are more likely to be broken in to. Worn or broken locks are an invitation to unwanted visitors.

The Metropolitan Police recommend fitting extra locks to patio doors where there is no multi-locking system in order to secure your home. The lock is fitted to the bottom fixed frame and on the side frame where it opens. They are easy to use as they are push to lock and key to open. However, if you are at all unsure about installing them yourself, then it is best to call in a professional locksmith like ourselves.
The Met also recommend a dual screw between both frames or the fitting of long throw bolts at the top and bottom of the door that opens.
Many burglaries happen at the rear of our homes and patio doors are a favourite place to attack. Get your UPVC doors properly secured to deter and prevent entry.
